TECHNICAL & DATA

Troubleshooting, updates & save data

Common issues around updates, startup errors, Mailbox rewards, Idle Results and backups.

Q

It looks like the Pickup Summon has not refreshed yet.

A

All dates and times in this answer are in Japan Standard Time (JST, UTC+9).

For time-limited events such as Pickup Summons, the app update is usually released around noon (12:00 JST) on the day after the event ends.

We usually release updates on the last Tuesday of the month. The app's version check redirects players to the store, and updating generally becomes required after 19:00 JST on the same day.

For example, if a Pickup Summon runs until October 28 (JST), the update normally becomes available around noon (12:00 JST) on October 29.

Q

I see a startup error when launching the app.

A

A startup error screen may appear if the app detects possible corruption or another issue in save data stored on your device.

Example of a startup error dialog.
Example startup error screen.
Note

This guidance is specific to this error. Please note that uninstalling the app will generally delete all app data stored on your device.

Please try uninstalling the app and reinstalling it from the store. Then go from the title screen to the Home screen and check whether your data has been restored.

If your data has not been restored after reinstalling, recovery will depend on whether you created transfer data beforehand. Please contact us through the in-app inquiry form in this case.

Q

Is there a way to back up my data?

A

Yes. Open Menu > Transfer in the game and create transfer data to save a backup of your progress at that point in time.

This backup does not update automatically, so we recommend creating transfer data regularly.

Q

I tapped Claim in the Mailbox, but the item became Read and did not arrive.

A

We're sorry for the trouble. In rare cases, this can happen if a communication error occurs while you are claiming items from the Mailbox.

Please contact us through the inquiry form so we can resend the item you were unable to receive.

Q

When I logged in after a while, my Idle Results showed 0.

A

As part of measures to prevent abuse, the Idle Results display may appear reset in the following situations.

  • You opened the Idle Results screen immediately after moving to the Home screen.
  • The app moved to the background for some reason during or immediately after the transition to the Home screen.

In these cases, it is only the display that may appear reset. The internal calculation and reward distribution are still processed properly once the server-connection indication disappears.

This is especially noticeable with features that generate resources every second, such as the Scarecrow and the Bank at the Base.

Restarting the app always takes at least one second. If all displayed values are 0, this behavior may be the reason, rather than a loss of rewards.

Q

In Food Production, how is Nutrition divided when multiple characters eat?

A

After selecting characters and a dish, you can use the table's Health Check display to check the distribution and each character's post-meal condition.

The game divides the Total Nutrition of the selected dish or dishes by the Total Fullness used, then distributes it in Meal Priority order, starting with the highest-priority character.

For example, if a meal has 1,500,000 Nutrition and 15% Fullness and two characters eat it, the result may be divided into 800,000 Nutrition / 8% Fullness for priority 1 and 700,000 Nutrition / 7% Fullness for priority 2.

GAME SYSTEMS

Game systems & balance

Questions about stats, missions, level caps, balance and in-game mechanics.

Q

What time is the daily reset?

A

The daily reset occurs every day at 0:00 JST (Japan Standard Time, UTC+9).

Q

What is the difference between DEF and DMG Reduction?

A

DEF is used in the damage formula when an enemy attacks a character. The exact formula is not published, and DEF +1 does not simply mean Damage -1.

DMG Reduction reduces the final damage after the damage formula has been applied.

For example, if a character would take 100 damage at 0% DMG Reduction, increasing DMG Reduction to 1% would reduce that damage to 99.

The more helpful option depends on your situation, so please choose the one that best suits your current build and needs.

Q

I have 30 characters, but the Main Mission 'Recruit 30 adventurers' is not completed.

A

This Main Mission counts Yuina's companions, so Yuina herself is not included in the total.

Q

It feels like my Rainbow Crystals went down even though I did not use them.

A

Rum's Spring & Dungeon stores data both locally and on the server. When you leave the title screen, the game connects to the server to retrieve data.

The most likely explanation is that some reward data was not reflected in the displayed balance because the data could not be retrieved correctly.

We are investigating this issue and looking into improvements. If you notice it, please try restarting the app first.

Q

I deleted the app by mistake. Can my data be restored?

A

Most save data for Rum's Spring & Dungeon is stored inside the app, so deleting the app usually deletes that data as well.

If you created transfer data beforehand, you can use it to restore your progress to the point when that transfer data was created.

We're sorry, but rollback or compensation is not available for this type of data loss. Without transfer data created beforehand, we cannot restore the save data.

Q

What is the maximum character level?

A

Before you use Level Unlock, each rarity has its own level cap for each stat.

A ★5 character has a cap of 100, and the cap decreases by 10 for each step down in rarity.

For more details, please see the Guide page in the in-game Menu.

Q

The required EXP suddenly seems much higher. Is this a bug?

A

Please check whether one of the Level Up ×5 or ×10 options next to your held EXP total is enabled.

When ×10 is enabled, the display shows the EXP required for 10 level-ups at once.

Q

Kotoza's damage feels too low.

A

Kotoza is designed to specialize in defense rather than dealing damage.

Kotoza's main skill periodically nullifies damage regardless of the damage value, while the sub-skill strengthens nearby allies. These abilities are the focus of the character's design, rather than attack-focused skills.

Q

After an update, it feels like a boss or monster became stronger. Were balance adjustments made?

A

As a rule, we do not change enemy or character strength except when fixing bugs.

If the difference seems unusually large, it may be a bug. Please let us know through the inquiry form.

If balance adjustments become necessary, we will announce them on the official X / Twitter account.

Q

The boss feels different when I skip compared with when I do not skip.

A

The enemy's strength does not change depending on whether you skip.

However, skill behavior can make the battle feel different. Depending on your party and character growth, skipping starts the battle from floor 200, so your buffs may differ from a run that fought continuously from floor 199 or earlier.

For example, the activation conditions of Noel's main skill and Schnee's sub-skill can naturally lead to different results.

If your results vary significantly between skipping and not skipping, further character strengthening may help make them more consistent.

DEVICES & PLAY

Device & gameplay notes

Questions about devices, save transfers, long play sessions and other gameplay details.

Q

My device broke, so I used transfer data created several months ago. The data rolled back. Can it be restored or compensated?

A

We're sorry, but compensation is not available for progress lost when older transfer data is used after device failure or loss.

We recommend creating transfer data regularly so you have a recent backup available.

Q

I play on a tablet, and sometimes the behavior seems strange.

A

Rum's Spring & Dungeon is designed for smartphones.

Tablets are not part of the confirmed operating environment, so please note that we may not be able to help with issues specific to tablet devices.

Q

The app crashes while I am playing.

A

Rum's Spring & Dungeon has only been tested and confirmed to operate on devices with 4 GB or more of physical memory.

On older devices, the available specifications may be insufficient.

If this happens on a newer device, it is more likely to be a bug. We address these issues through updates where possible.

Q

If the artifact 'Norn's Tears' reaches Lv10, is a Rainbow Crystal guaranteed to drop?

A

Upgrading Norn's Tears to Lv10 gives +100% drop rate. This doubles the original Rainbow Crystal drop rate; it does not make the drop rate a guaranteed 100%.

Q

I used a Skill Protection Stone, but my skill level did not go up.

A

A Skill Protection Stone prevents your skill level from decreasing, as described in its tooltip. It does not guarantee that the skill level will increase.

Q

What counts as an obvious abnormality for title-screen status correction?

A

For example, you might have raised ATK to level 50, but the ATK value still displays as 0.

This applies to players who, after the February 2022 update, performed actions such as leveling up or pulling gacha while the display appeared to have returned to its initial state.

Q

I got 99 Rainbow Crystals in the dungeon. Is that intended?

A

Yes, this is intended. Rare stages can appear at a low rate as you progress through the dungeon. Defeating a monster on one of these stages can reward you with 99 Rainbow Crystals.

Q

The app became slow after I played for a long time.

A

We have confirmed that the app can become slower during very long continuous play sessions.

This appears to be more common on older devices. If the app starts to feel slow, please try restarting it.

Q

Are the rates for summons or artifacts biased?

A

The rates for summons, artifacts, Skill Enhance and similar systems match those displayed in the game.

For example, in a Pickup Summon, when you obtain a ★5 character, that character has a 50% chance of being a featured character. This does not mean that one featured character is guaranteed for every two ★5 characters obtained.

SUPPORT & PURCHASES

Support, purchases & summons

Contact replies, purchase issues and summon / pity behavior.

Q

I did not receive a reply to my inquiry.

A

We're sorry you haven't received a reply. Please check the following:

  • Please check that the email address you entered in the form is correct.
  • Your mail server may be full, which can prevent incoming messages even if you can still send email.
  • Please check your spam and trash folders in case our reply was moved there.
  • Please check that the option asking whether a developer reply is needed is set to 'Needed' in the inquiry form.

If none of these applies and you have been waiting for more than a week, we may have missed your message. Please contact us again.

Q

Are Premium Summon and Pickup Summon pity counters separate?

A

Premium Summon and Pickup Summon share the same pity counter.

For example, if you summon 30 times in Premium Summon without receiving a ★5 character and then switch to Pickup Summon, a ★5 character will appear within the next 20 summons.

Q

If one Pickup Summon changes to another Pickup Summon, what happens to the summon count?

A

Your summon count carries over when one Pickup Summon changes to another.

This is intentional: Pickup Summons are time-limited, so a counter may still be partway through when an event ends.
