Part 1
You can take on Total War only once a day, for 30 seconds.
The bodies of the girls fused with the followers cannot endure a longer assault
and would break down, so you cannot keep attacking.
By protecting the girls' bodies with Rainbow Crystals
you can attack the followers again.
Healing also deals damage to the Evil Dragon.
Extra healing values are counted as extra damage as well.
Healing characters are not healing any other character,
so buffs that trigger on healing, such as ATK up, do not apply.
Debuffs such as DEF down do not affect the Evil Dragon.
Part 2
Total War rewards come in two kinds: the reward you get for each battle,
and rewards for your cumulative Purification Rank.
Your Purification Rank rises each time the total damage you deal
in the 30 seconds passes a set value.

The Evil Dragon Scales, Fangs and Spirit Stones you receive from each battle
can be used for a character's Limit Break (+11 and above).
You can check how many you hold in the item list at the Base,
and you can also sell them.
